Dear go friends,

as was announced at this AGM, World Women's Championship will be held at least in three following years starting this year. Europe has one place in this event, at the moment. It was decided, therefore, that European Women's Championship will be a qualification for that event. Current Women's Champion, Rita Pocsai, will go for this year's Championship, held this September. The European Women's Championship in Lyon/ France, this October, is a qualification for World Women's Championship 2011. It was also announced at AGM, but my experience says, that this information could have been easily overlooked. As the European Women's Championship is already after two months, I would like to remind it to everybody to whom it may concern. Please, spread this information in your countries and especially among your strong women players.

This year the European Women Championship is organised for the first time in France, hosted by the Lyon tournament. Please find all the information here:

A few high-lights:

Starting this year, the EWC will qualify for the European place at the World Women's Championship.

The tournament is open to all women players holding an European passport.

the EGF offers a small contribution (min 50 euro, depending on the number of players) for the national representative (one per country).
