Registration is now open for the 2016 Irish Confucius Cup to be held on the weekend of March 5th-6th in Dublin.

There will be professional Go and Chinese Chess players visiting from Beijing to give game reviews and play simultaneous games.

There will be a first prize of €1,000 for both the Go and Chinese Chess tournaments.

SYSTEM:
Tournament with handicap –3. Swiss system six rounds.
TIME: 25 minutes/player and 20 seconds of byoyomi.
Ranking categories according to EGD.
The organization may change those categories as it deems appropriate in accordance with the Commission of Categories.
Class C Tournament valid for the ranking EGD.

Winner of the championship: 300 € and a trophy
2nd player classified 150 € and trophy
3rd player classified 100 € and trophy
4th player classified 50 €
5th player classified 25 €
1st player Seville 25 €

Go book prizes for the best classified in each category
Prizes in all segment categories. A maximum of one prize per participant.
Different gifts for the participants kindly donated by the following institutions, people and companies: La Carbonería, Excelentísima Diputación de Sevilla, Japan Embassy, etc.

REGISTRATIONS:

All those players wishing to participate (including members of the Association of Andalusia Go) should apply through email to goandalucia@gmail.com, with the following information: name, category, KGS nick , town, country and a contact telephone number.

Due to the limited number of places in the tournament pre-inscription must be confirmed by the organization. Should anybody apply for the championship either without pre-inscription or with a pre-inscription not confirmed by the organization. Confirmed participation by organization should make the deposit of corresponding fee each case to the bank account to facilitate the organization. The tournament registration will be formalized only when confirmed by the organization and was made the corresponding bank deposit.
In the case to come to the championship without making prescription, or being it done and not have confirmation of the organization, or not paid the appropriate fee, participation shall be conditional upon the availability would have at that time. The capacity of the tournament is limited to a maximum of 64 participants.

Carbonería Go Club members, 40% discount on the applicable enrollment
AEGO members, 20% discount on the applicable enrollment


* Players under 18 must bring along a signed authorization from parent(s) or legal tutor stating their consent for the player to participate and naming the adult who will be in charge of said participant during the tournament.

The championship will take place at the beginning of the "Feria de Abril" (Seville's Spring Fair), one of the most important and well-known popular festivities in Spain.

It is one of Europe's bigger Tournaments and attracts a large number of European top players every year.

Hi all!

Please find attached an information sheet about the Silk Road International City Weiqi Tournament. This year it will be held from 1-6 September in Urumqi, China.

As you might know, Pavol Lisy 1p and Ali Jabarin 1p got 1st (600.000 RMB) and 2nd place (300.000 RMB) respectively in the first edition of the Silk Road tournament. Last year, in the 2nd edition, Europeans scored good results again with Mateusz Surma 1p and Pavol Lisy 1p sharing 2nd and 3rd place, and Team Central Europe winning the team competition. This was a happy incident again not only for the European participants, but also the Chinese media and Go fans. Therefore, the organisers would like see even more European faces at this tournament. 30 seats in this tournament are reserved for Europeans (3d and stronger).
