Dear students in Europe,

the European Students Go Championship 2025 will be
held at the university of Luxembourg. The Winners of the
Championship will be invited to the OZA tournament in
Japan in 2026.

The Championship will be accompanied by an open
tournament to which we particularly invite students in
Europe who are not qualified for the official Championship.

The Championship will take place from Wednesday,
September 17 to Friday, September 19, 2025, details will
be published by the end of the year.

Europe, so I hope that this mail will somehow reach
everyone. If you want to receive the next e-mail with the
details directly, just send me an e-mail to

Announcement - tournament in Korea - for players born 1980 or before

here's an interesting tournament, where Europe will get one seat, like in the last few years, when Rob van Zejst represented Europe.
Please spread the information in your countries. I assume that there will be more than one interested player, so we need an online-qualification-tournament. Therefore herewith I set a deadline on the 16th April for "showing interest" in this event. The qualification-tournament will happen in the second half of April, while the deadline for nominating our European representative is the 30th April.

European Pair Go Championship & 1st Transylvanian Go Cup – Grand Prix C

Two International Go tournaments in Romania this June, in Bistrița!
This summer, the city of Bistrița will host two major international Go events:

Tournament schedule:
June 5–7: European Pair Go Championship
June 8–9: 1st Transylvanian Go Cup – Grand Prix Circuit, Class C
Total prizes: €3,500
Awards for the top 6 pairs in the Pair Go, top 8 players in the Grand Prix, and special prizes for players scoring 4/5 or 5/5 wins!
Location: Bistrița – a charming medieval city in the heart of Transylvania, known for its hospitality and beauty. All events will take place in a professional venue fully dedicated to Go. The organizing club, ACS Atsumi, has extensive experience with national championship-level events.
